Reblogged article from Cover Magazine

The summer issue of COVER magazine features the best carpets & textiles for interiors worldwide and this digital edition is available for free via Exact EditionsHere is a taster four of the brightest rugs and textiles right now as featured in the COVER 47 Hotlist:

Straight from the front cover is Neptune, the first of six Piscine rugs from Countach Studio based on a variety of existing swimming pools. French designer Malak Mebkhout, inspired by artist David Hockney, based this first design on the monumental pool of Hearst Castle in California.

An intriguing trompe l’oeil design, Staircase explores the boundary between illusion and reality. The handknotted rug, featuring 45 different shades of grey in wool and silk is the result of a second collaboration between two Berlin companies; rug brand Reuber Henning and fashion label Bless.

The new Super-Texture collection of throws and cushions by Tom Dixon is the brand’s first foray into weaving, sewing and embellishing in a series of velvets, boucles and knits. The different elements are designed to fit together when layered and combined.

At Salone del Mobile in April Milanese brand cc-tapis showed off a vast array of new rug designs. The One by New York-based designer Alex Proba was a COVER favourite. Reflecting Proba’s colourful and graphic work, it features a variety of patterns that have the appearance of varying textures.
