This year at Dwell on Design Los Angeles, visitors of the Dwell Outdoor zone will have a chance to tour the new Airbnb Home, a model C6 prefab, designed by Steve Glenn of LivingHomes. With the introduction of this home, Airbnb welcomes guests to explore what it means to be a modern host.

Since day one, Airbnb has relied on the welcoming spirit of its host community coupled with the unique personal design of spaces that transform a house into a home. With that in mind, visitors will be offered complimentary refreshments, such as fresh coffee served up each morning by Civil Coffee of Highland Park. A SmileBooth will also be on hand to capture a few photo-fun moments. Plus, the Airbnb Home will host craft workshops and giveaways.

Inspired by the modern homes built by midcentury modern developer Joseph Eichler, the C6 model is a perfect pairing for Airbnb. The three bedroom, two bathroom home has a floor plan that’s just over 1,200 square feet, it’s environmentally progressive, and outfitted with comfort in mind—the living area and bedrooms are organized around a cozy courtyard patio.

The doors to the Airbnb Home will be open all hours of the event, and they’re happy to invite everyone in to their home. They also might just have a welcome token waiting for any Airbnb hosts that stop in.
